This is a short one, but I friggin’ hate crows. Here in Santa Clara, they are all over the place- and if I walk down to the Willow Glenn area, one time there was a pine tree that was about 150-200 feet tall, and it was almost completely black from all the crows on it. They are always in my area, and they make all kinds of noise. I just wish I could train my cats to kill them, but they are too big I think. What I need to do is zero in my bb-gun, and start shooting them. Perhaps the word will spread to stay clear of my home.
Well, my beater car “The Hammer” died today- for $600, it was a great grocery getter, and got awesome gas mileage (35 mpg). It all started when the old radiator was leaking, so I put a new one in (and got a black thumb nail as a result). All was fine, but I noticed that it was leaking. Anyway, I jacked up the escort to drain the radiator fluid to put some fresh stuff in, and the engine came through the compartment (raised about 8″). Hindsight is 20/20, but I have never had a front-weel drive car before, so the place where I put the jack up I would have thought wouldn’t have done anything- it was pretty far back over the transmission. Oh well, I think I subconsiously did this because I knew the car was a death-trap, plus it had a baaaad electrical problem which would cause plastic to melt if you had the headlights on for more than 20 minutes. I love having two cars- driving the Yukon every day is nice, but it gets old. I think I will get a comparibly small car to whip in-and-out of places- perhaps a 2-door focus. The only good thing that happened yesterday was that I got the “cat tunnel” done- there is a hole in my wall (about 5″x9″) next to the garage door to the inside of the house, and I cut some 5/8″ plywood and trim, and made a decent tunnel. I painted it the same color as the wall, so you kind of can’t see it. Looks good.
Well, it’s 9:20pm, and I haven’t eaten dinner yet. I don’t know many meals to make, but I love the marinara sauce I whip together, and no, it doesn’t come from a jar. Anywho, I digress. Basically, all I wanted to say is that I had a crappy gym session. I did my normal cadio- no problem, but when I went to do any weights, I had absolutely NO energy. It felt like I had an extra 20% of weight on there. I figured something was wrong, and I didn’t want to hurt myself, so I called it quits for the day, and headed home. Before I went home to take a shower, I stopped at the grocery store to get the stuff for the marinara sauce, and I noticed that they had this awesome cereal that I like. It’s called “Go Lean Crunch” and it’s made by Kashi. It’s really really good, so I picked up 4 boxes. When I went to the checkout line, I wondered if the guy thought I was nuts. Who cares. :p
