Inconsistent

Yes. I go for…5-6 months without writing in my blog, then I do it two times in one week. What gives? I’m not going to say anything to Zelda- I want to see how long it takes her to comment. hehe. ;-) Speaking of, I got the nicest comment from her the other day- she says I write like Hemmingway. Now, I don’t think I have ever read a book from her.. hee. HIM (just joking), but that is what she says. Given that she is a voratious reader (and we’re not talking about the trashy spy-novels I read), it sure was a nice comment. She needs to keep the comments down, otherwise I end up prancing around the house telling the cats how great I am. That would be a ugly sight. Right now I’m nursing on Slaughterhouse Five by Vonnegut. She finds it hilarious that I- the commonly conservative would like Vonnegut- (more…)

Oi. My head hurts

Jeez. I don’t know what the deal is. My head is POUNDING today. I don’t remember the last time I had a headache this bad. I just self-medicated with two tylenol to hopefully put the woops to it. We’ll see. I was dog-tired today before my 4 hour nap- I ended up staying up until about 1:30am goofing around on the computer since I knew I could sleep in, and my damn alarm clock woke me up at 6:45am (it has a weekend shut-off mode that wasn’t set). So, I woke up, sent Zelda a dorky little email, and tried to go back to sleep. Nope- that didn’t work. Sammy thought it was time to wake up, so he started purring, and licking my face, then I started thinking about work, and how I’ll be meeting with my boss to discuss why I am wrong for thinking we should be compensated (time off) for working on the weekends/evenings, and I figured I may as well get up. Ug.

While I was feeling good, I figured I’d hit Costco. (more…)

It’s been WAY too long…

How long has it been- since May? Sheesh. Zelda’s been bugging me about writing in my blog (I think every day that we talk on the phone she asks me if I’ve written in my blog- hee), so tonight I’ll do it. Hopefully the tone off this will be somewhat chipper, I’ve not been in the best of moods lately.

First off- Zelda. I love her so much, and miss her like crazy. I’m just SO glad I was able to be with her on her birthday- that was the most amazing time, and in about 6.5 weeks, I’ll get to see her again (YAY!!!!). Right now, she’s applying for a TFA (Teach for America) job, so it all depends when she can make it- she said it’s a three week window starting around mid Nov, and going to the beginning of Dec. The families she works for want her to come back between TFA and Christmas if she gets an earlier interview time. Hopfully she can make it the whole month, that’d be beyond great. (more…)
